I have today received the sad news that the former Town goalkeeper Vernon Bissell has passed away. Vernon made his debut in a 2-1 home win on 24th Oct 1959 against Banbury Spencer. He made a total of 32 appearances making his last one against Stourbr*dge on 15th October 1960. Vernon's brother is former committee member Kevin Bissell and my thoughts are with family and friends at this time.

I remember the afternoon we were playing in Laurel Lane and Vernon came along to the doctors He’d broken his collar bone the previous evening in a 0-5 defeat at home to Bromsgrove Rovers.
